El presente álbum es precisamente una selección de los principales éxitos que protagonizó Tito Gómez junto a la Riverside durante más de un cuarto de siglo de carrera compartida.
In 1938 when José Antonio Tenreiro Gómez was a young man of eighteen years old debuted as a singer with Osvaldo Estivil’s orchestra with which he came in for the first time inside a studio for recording a music in which he was to appear already identified with his artistic name of Tito Gómez.
Afterward, in 1949, he goes on to integrate one of the most renowned jazz bands of the time, Riverside Orchestra, making famous almost immediately the theme Mambo en España (Mambo in Spain), and after that they convince him of including in one of his recordings, almost as a filler with little pretensions, a version of Vereda tropical (Tropical trail) in chachachá rhythm, work by the Mexican composer Gonzalo Curiel, with which Tito would obtain a Golden Record for a million plates sold.
The present album is precisely a selection of the main successes Tito Gómez was protagonist with Riverside orchestra for more than a quarter of a century of a shared career.
